González Powers Zombies to 4-2 Win
|
Riding the 4-hit performance of the 23-year old left fielder José González, the Jacksonville Zombies stopped the Cape Fear Swamp Foxes, 4-2. The win was credited to Pedro Fenton in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Waleed Hadad took the loss. The Zombies bumped their record to 20-18 with this latest triumph.
Had González not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, González hit a run-scoring single. The Zombies took the lead, 3-2, and never looked back.
González attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
