Bears Win at Hawaii, 4-1
|
Yuu Suzuki left his imprint on the 4-1 San Fernando win against the Hawaii Tropics. Suzuki, who led the FL in RBI with 132 last year, went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Ielemia Faletose. He's now 1-0. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits for the Bears. San Fernando is now 3-1.
There was more than one reason the Bears beat the Tropics, but Suzuki's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 1-0 lead when he hit a run-scoring single.
Said losing manager Rich Kerr: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
