Bears Send Bikini Home with 9-4 Loss
Bikini got a terrific game from designated hitter Al Schumann. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to San Fernando, 9-4. Schumann was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. San Fernando reliever Steve Fuller got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Arturo Meza was tagged with the loss. With the win, San Fernando boosts its record to 1-3.

San Fernando catcher Manny Trujillo contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the sixth. With two down, he hit a screwball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Bears ahead, 4-3.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Trujillo told the San Fernando Observer.
