Swamp Foxes Capture Close Win
Behind the bravura of designated hitter Leonardo Rodríguez, the Cape Fear Swamp Foxes topped the Jacksonville Zombies by the score of 7-6. Rodríguez was 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Swamp Foxes. The winner was Lu-king Vein in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Lindsay Barber took the loss. The win gives Cape Fear a season record of 20-20.

Cape Fear needed the clutch hitting of Sam Butler to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Swamp Foxes on top, 7-6. For the game, Butler had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

Swamp Foxes manager Francisco Catazara wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
