Gamblers Lose By a Run at Cobble Hill
|
Mauro Díaz had a good game, but he could not keep the Atlantic City Gamblers from falling, 5-4, to the Cobble Hill Robins at McDermott Park at Ebbets Field. The Atlantic City third baseman was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk in the loss. Beau Broomhall earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 4-1. The third-place Robins now sit at 22-19.
The Robins got a big at-bat from third baseman Ismael Delgado. For the game, Delgado went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Cobble Hill a 3-2 lead.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Atlantic City manager Alejandro Hernández. "The effort was great."
