In a low-scoring contest between the Vancouver Mounties and the Valencia Stars, Dirk Bessi, who is tied for 3rd in the FL in quality starts with 6, proved to be the difference. The Vancouver left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Mounties win. Bessi, the winner, moves to 7-2. He threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks. The Mounties move to 19-21 with the win, while the Stars drop to 13-27.

The Mounties benefited from an error in the top of the fourth inning. Vancouver was leading 1-0 when Zhi Li hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Vancouver in front, 2-0.

"It was a good effort all around," said Li.
