Flyers Topple Shredders, 6-3, as Chávez Shines
Charlotte second baseman Domingo Chávez contributed significantly to his team's 6-3 win over the Austin Shredders. Chávez, who finished 4th in the JL in wins above replacement with 6.9 last year, went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Flyers. Logan Hill was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he yielded 1 run on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. With the victory, the Flyers record stands at 26-17.

With Charlotte leading 4-3 in the top of the ninth, Chávez hit a fastball from Motuha Kalinda for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Flyers ahead, 6-3.

"If it's down the middle," said Chávez, "you might as well hit it."
