Drooping Crawdads Lose 6th Straight
|
The Atlantic City Gamblers turned back the New Orleans Crawdads, 6-5, at The Commanders Palace. Carlos Allen, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Atlantic City reliever Tommy Boele was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Eduardo Jiménez. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Harry King.
Jafar Seif al Din came through with a big-time hit for Atlantic City. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I'm proud to wear a Atlantic City jersey," Allen told the Atlantic City Chronicle. "We played a good game and came out with the win. What more can you ask for?"
The losses continue to mount for New Orleans, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
