Pioneers Rally Late to Clip Montreal
The Calgary Pioneers beat the Montreal Blazers, 6-5, at The Stockyard. Bülent Kazaz, who is tied for 2nd in the JL in doubles with 20, starred for Calgary. He was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Calgary reliever Ray Matthews picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Augusto Ayala absorbed the loss. The setback makes Montreal 23-22.

Resurrection Santos III was the walk-off hero for Calgary. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pioneers right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This place was jumping at the end," Santos III said.
