After his 5-hit effort at Chevrolet Field was tarnished by Gaylord's 11-8 loss to the Bowling Green Corvettes, catcher Ismail Ghilzai told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 20-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Corvettes.

"His swing is getting there," said Sting Rays skipper Mike Campbell after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ismail did that to perfection and we wasted it."

Ismail Ghilzai hit a solo-shot off Ahmed bin Haytham in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Farid bin Yusuf in the 9th.

This year, Ghilzai is batting .315 with 28 hits and 5 home runs. He has scored 9 times and has batted in 22 runs.
