The Twin Cities River Monsters picked up a win at Dunn Field, taking down the Valencia Stars, 5-2. Starting pitcher Erik Brooks was a big reason why. The River Monsters now have a record of 25-20.

Joseph Mother cracked a home run off Qing-lai Ou-yang in the top of the first. His 2-run blast put the River Monsters on top, 2-0. In all, Mother had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Erik pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Twin Cities manager Gerald Brandt.
