Palmer Gets 5 Hits
A jubilant Vincente Palmer joined the postgame press conference at Garden City Grounds to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Gaylord Sting Rays pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Aurora Bullfrogs third baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-7 hitting performance, which led to the 13-8 Bullfrogs win.

"He made it look easy," said Gary Allen, manager of the Sting Rays. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Vincente Palmer doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, doubled in the 10th and singled in the 12th.

This year, Palmer is batting .311 with 18 home runs and 47 RBIs.
