Red-Hot Gadomsky Scorches Stars
|
Timofei Gadomsky knows as well as anyone that in baseball, the biggest contracts go to the biggest hitters. At Dunn Field, he made his case to be considered among that group.
The 23-year-old first baseman hammered 5 hits in 5 chances, though the remarkable effort came even as his Chicago Black Sox fell, 7-3, to the Valencia Stars.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," Stars manager Roberto Solís told BNN sportswriters after the game. "Thankfully, we were able to do enough elsewhere that Gadomsky wasn't the difference."
Timofei Gadomsky singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Juan García in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
So far this year in 42 games, Gadomsky is hitting .294 with 8 home runs, 26 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
