Austin 4-1 Losers to Jimmies
|
John Mellon, who is tied for 3rd in the JL in quality starts with 7, was locked in. The left-hander led the Charm City Jimmies to a 4-1 win against the Austin Shredders at Austin Baseball Grounds. Mellon yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-3. Getting the save was Seung-jin Cho, his 3rd.
Charm City used a well-timed hit by Arturo Pérez to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Jimmies ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Mellon said after the game.
The Jimmies, at 32-16, lead by one game in their division.
