Jacksonville Defeated By Spuds, 13-4
|
The Boise Spuds soundly defeated the Jacksonville Zombies, 13-4, at The Station @ CSX Field, with first baseman Tsutomu Yamauchi a major reason why. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for Boise. Felipe Ledesma, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-1. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 2 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Boise has 3 straight wins, Jacksonville 3 straight losses.
In the first inning, Yamauchi had a 2-run double for Boise. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Spuds on top, 3-0.
In comments to the Boise Bulletin, Yamauchi admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
