Anderson Tags Pythons for 5 Hits
|
All game long, Elkins's Tommy Anderson was rattling the walls at Vultures Nest and banging out base hits against the Port Arthur Pythons. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Buzzards had a win, 9-4.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 20-year-old shortstop said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
Tommy Anderson doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Anderson has a .403 average and a .444 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 56 hits, 5 home runs and driven in 20 runs.
