George Groen put on a hitting clinic as the Anchorage Polar Bears dumped the Laramie Wranglers, 16-5, at Leamington Grounds.

The Anchorage right fielder made Laramie defenders earn their pay, lashing Laramie pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Groen said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

George Groen grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Freddy Múñez in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Francisco Ansótegui in the 6th, hit a three-run double in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
