Nine Victorious at Chicago, 2-0
|
The Yellow Springs Nine got a stellar performance from pitcher Dewey Harris, who handcuffed the Chicago offense en route to a win, 2-0, at Vinnie Vitale Stadium. Yellow Springs is now 2-3.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Emílio Navarro? The Yellow Springs first baseman had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Nine on top, 2-0. For the game, Navarro had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Yellow Springs manager Bill Inkster.
