‘Iolani Palace was the site for Frick League action featuring the Hawaii Tropics and Sacramento Mad Popes.

The Sacramento Mad Popes defeated the Hawaii Tropics, 8-4, in part because of center fielder Lou Bayou. Bayou was 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Mad Popes. Sacramento, with the win, is 5-0.

Sacramento used a well-timed hit by Pedro Álvarez to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mad Popes ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We maximized our offense today," said Sacramento skipper Fernando Pacheco. "That makes everyone's life easier."
