Cyclones Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Omaha Cyclones earned a close win over the Long Beach Surfers, thanks in part to Felipe Méndez. The Omaha right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the FL in innings pitched with 62.0, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Omaha reliever Jesús Huerta picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Paul Berry was tagged with the loss. Dave Ferrell picked up the save for Omaha, his 9th of the year.
Omaha used the hitting of Jorge Delgado to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cyclones on top, 3-2. For the game, Delgado had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Delgado called it "a solid win."
Omaha is now 24-26.
