Mounties Bang Out 8-2 Win Versus Yellow Springs
|
The Vancouver Mounties defeated the Yellow Springs Nine, 8-2, in Frick League action at Utopia Field. Vancouver pitcher Juan García had a standout performance. In 7 innings, García surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The Mounties, at 26-25, sit in 4th place in the Frick League Pacific Division.
In the top of the first, Sergio Mendoza ambushed a 3-0 cutter from Sakutaro Kawano and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Vancouver a quick 2-0 lead.
"Juan was throwing free and easy," said Vancouver manager Hung-k'uei Cui.
