Though he had a stellar game, Callum Browne could not prevent his team, the Sacramento Mad Popes, from losing, 5-4, to the Nashville Bluebirds. Browne went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. David Molina sewed up the save, his 3rd. The Bluebirds lead the Frick League Heartland Division by 8 games.
The Bluebirds got a big at-bat from catcher David López. For the game, López was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Nashville a 3-0 lead.
"We ground out the win," said López. "That's all that matters."
