In a tight tilt between the Louisville Sluggers and the Bikini Krill, Ernesto Marrero was the deciding factor. The Louisville right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. The winner was Marrero. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Paul Glass. With this game in the books, Louisville is 32-20, Bikini 23-29.
Don Hale had a big solo home run for the Sluggers in the bottom of the first inning. With Louisville leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a sinker from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Paul Glass and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Sluggers on top, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Louisville manager Bernardo Herrera said.
