Mounties Best Nine in Pitching Duel

Both teams had their chances, but the Vancouver Mounties eventually prevailed.
Gamal bin Badr pitched a gem to lead Vancouver to victory over the Yellow Springs Nine, 2-1. The winner was bin Badr. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Dewey Harris.
Vancouver used a well-timed hit by Miguel Montero to capture the win. The right fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mounties ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Montero.
Vancouver has 3 straight wins, Yellow Springs 3 straight losses.
