Jacksonville Sunk by Boise, 3-2
|
The Jacksonville Zombies and Boise Spuds provided some drama for the home crowd.
Dan Voelzke, who is tied for 7th in the JL in wins with 5, pitched well, but the Jacksonville Zombies still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Boise Spuds at The Station @ CSX Field. Earning his 10th save of the year was Mario Santos.
The Spuds got a big at-bat from right fielder José Montoya. For the game, Montoya went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Boise a 3-2 lead.
Montoya told a Boise Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
Boise, at 22-32, holds down 7th place in the Johnson League Frontier Division.
