A good performance from right fielder Jesús Reyes helped the Long Beach Surfers defeat the Madison Wolves, 7-3. Reyes was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Surfers. Alfred Pepe was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was top prospect Carlos Cruz. José Owens earned the save for Long Beach.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ricardo Antúnez? The Long Beach third baseman had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Surfers on top, 2-0. For the game, Antúnez had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
