Nine Get Past Sacramento for 6-5 Win
The Yellow Springs Nine besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Sacramento second baseman Yoshitora Goto by beating the Mad Popes, 6-5, at Utopia Field. Goto went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. Yellow Springs reliever Ollie Lowry picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Cade Miller took the loss. The Yellow Springs winning streak has reached 3 games.

The Nine beat the Mad Popes in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Attana Sangeeta produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Cade Miller, Sangeeta gave his team the lead, 6-4, when he hit a 2-run single.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Yellow Springs manager Bill Inkster.
