Sluggers Even Record with 3-2 Victory
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Louisville Sluggers and the Valencia Stars, 25-year old right-handed pitcher Seiichi Suzuki proved to be the difference. The Louisville right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Sluggers win. The 5th-place Stars now sit at 26-30.
Had Don Hale not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Hale hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Sluggers.
"Seiichi -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Sluggers manager Bernardo Herrera. "He was the key to us winning."
