Mounties Suffer One-Run Loss at Hawaii
|
The Hawaii Tropics earned a close win over the Vancouver Mounties, thanks in part to Semih Gurânî. The Hawaii right-hander, who is a two-time All-Star, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. The win elevated the Tropics to 71-53.
Mitch Wareham, who finished 2nd in the FL in triples with 10 in 2059, chipped in a run-scoring single for Hawaii in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
Wareham called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
