The Twin Cities River Monsters rode a solid performance from 27-year-old starting pitcher Rubén Flores to a win, beating the Madison Wolves, 4-1, at Shotz Stadium. The win lifted the Twin Cities record to 80-44.

The River Monsters got a big at-bat from first baseman Mathew Malone. For the game, Malone went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 23rd home run of the season gave Twin Cities a 2-0 lead.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Flores said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
