Austin Picks Up Another L
The Calgary Pioneers cut down the Austin Shredders by the score of 10-5, with the largest share of the credit going to catcher John Chitwood. Chitwood hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Pioneers. Kelly Sims picked up the save for Calgary, his 1st of the year. The Shredders, now 46-82, have lost 7 in a row.

Calgary used the timely hitting of Resurrection Santos III to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pioneers on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We just can't get over the hump," said losing manager Víctor Asario.
