Atlantic City turned a good performance from starting pitcher Ángel Medina into a 1-0 triumph over the Phoenix Talons at The Ballpark at Bally's. The winning pitcher was Medina, now 6-3. He tossed 5.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 2. Jesús Martínez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 13th save.

The Talons had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Gamblers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old catcher Ricardo Romo came to the plate. Romo hit a solo home run on a 2-1 fastball from Phoenix hurler Francisco Moreno. It was Romo's 5th home run of the year.

"Getting the win feels nice," said Medina. "More importantly, I had a good game."

At 30-28, the Gamblers claim 5th place in the Johnson League Atlantic Division.
