Pitcher Bin-ying Yen was rock solid in helping the Nashville Bluebirds beat the Des Moines Kernels, 4-1. Yen picked up the win for Nashville, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 14-7. Giustino Modica finished to wrap up his 19th save.
Nashville used the timely hitting of Crissy Tingle to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bluebirds on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Tingle said.
Nashville is sailing along at 90-43.
