The Yellow Springs Nine topped the Des Moines Kernels by a score of 7-4. Leading the way was center fielder Don Anderson. Anderson went 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Nine. John Hurry picked up the win in relief. Salah Lutfi took the loss for Des Moines. Yellow Springs, now 59-74, holds down last place in the Frick League Heartland Division.

Anderson had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-2 fastball from Salah Lutfi, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Nine a 6-4 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Anderson.

"Nice to tuck this win away," said Anderson.
