The Montreal Blazers manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the New Orleans Crawdads. The Blazers were overpowered by New Orleans starter John Lucas, who hurled his club to victory, 9-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Paul Scholes said.

Over 9 innings, Lucas blanked Montreal on 4 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Lucas said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

Lucas has started 28 times this year, pitched 146 innings, fanned 119 batters and walked 42. His current record is 7 wins and 16 losses with a 6.97 ERA.
