Surfers Stick Stars with 3-2 Loss
|
The 3-2 Long Beach win over Valencia was due in large part to Glenn Fox. The Surfers left fielder went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Long Beach pitcher Harold Nothard got the win, upping his record to 4-0. Juan García got the loss. Owen McKelvey, credited with the save, is now 13 for 13 in save opportunities.
Fox in the bottom of the third had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and the Surfers trailing 2-0, he hit a 2-run home run.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Fox, "and go after the next one."
The Surfers bumped their record to 75-63 with this win.
