The Sacramento Mad Popes finished off the Hawaii Tropics, 11-1. Much of the credit belonged to catcher Weston McMullin. McMullin went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Mad Popes. Sacramento bumps their record to 73-66 with the win.

Emilio Morales, Jr. had a big 2-run home run for the Mad Popes in the bottom of the first inning. With Sacramento leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a changeup from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Daniel Thornton and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Mad Popes on top, 4-1.

Hawaii manager Amato Cruz called the blowout loss "nothing to write home about."
