The San Fernando Bears trumped the Hawaii Tropics, 4-1, at Chico's Bail Bonds Field. San Fernando center fielder Sonny Bigalow was terrific. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Jerry Richards got the win, improving to 3-9. He held the Tropics to 1 run on 2 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 3. The Bears, now 75-64, have won 4 in a row.

With San Fernando trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Bigalow hit a fastball from Semih Gurânî for a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Bears ahead, 2-1.

"I like what I saw today," said San Fernando manager Gonzalo Escobar, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
