|
Bikini got a big-time effort from pitcher Ángel Villanueva, but it wasn't enough to keep the Vancouver Mounties from winning the game, 3-2. Villanueva threw 7.2 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Geoffrey Greening was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-4. The losing pitcher was Winston Morris. Vancouver is last in the Frick League Pacific Division with a record of 62-77.
Butrus bin Issam was the walk-off hero for Vancouver. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mounties catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Vancouver manager Hung-k'uei Cui.
