Fernández goes 4-for-4, Leads Flyers to Win

Charlotte took on Cape Fear in front of a lively crowd.
The Charlotte Flyers bumped off the Cape Fear Swamp Foxes, 7-4, at Family Dollar Field. Reynaldo Fernández hit 1 single and 3 doubles. He also had 2 RBI. Ghumer Angara picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-2. Liam Johnston, who is tied for 5th in the JL in complete games with 1, was tagged with the loss.
José Vargas had a big 2-run double for the Flyers in the bottom of the second inning. With Charlotte leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Liam Johnston, who is tied for 5th in the JL in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to center. It was his 40th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Flyers ahead, 3-0.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Fernández told the Charlotte Chronicle.
Charlotte is now 83-57, while Cape Fear is 76-63.
