River Monsters Get Better of Cyclones, 5-2
|
The Twin Cities River Monsters topped the Omaha Cyclones, 5-2, in Frick League action at Land O' Lakes Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Twin Cities pitcher Erik Brooks. Earning his 15th save of the year was Jorge Durán. The second-place River Monsters have won 5 consecutive games.
Pedro Aguilar had a big 3-run home run for the River Monsters in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Twin Cities leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from former first round draft pick Kauna Fabiano and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the River Monsters on top, 5-1.
After the game, Twin Cities manager Gerald Brandt applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
