Big Day with Bat: Prieto 5-for-6
Tuesday, August 9th , 2061
It was a sensational day at the plate for Brooklyn Robins center fielder Wilson Prieto, but a tough one for the team, as the Robins dropped the contest, 11-10, to the New Orleans Crawdads.
Even with the loss, Prieto was pure misery for the New Orleans pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked after going 5-for-6 in an explosive display of hitting.
"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win," said Prieto, who is the 28-year old center fielder .
"Prieto really hit the ball hard and when you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage," Crawdads manager Luis Hernández told BNN reporters after the game. "I feel like we threw him some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Wilson Prieto struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jason Nelson in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
For the year, Prieto has hit .293 with 10 home runs, 55 RBIs and scored 66 runs.
