Pioneers End Yamauchi Streak Saturday, April 1st , 2062 The Boise Spuds lost to the Calgary Pioneers, 5-3, at The Stockyard, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Tsutomu Yamauchi's 21-game hitting streak. The left fielder went 0-for-4 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Yamauchi, we would win the game," Pioneers manager Tony Franco explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." |
