Hat Trick of Home Runs for Suzuki Thursday, May 11th , 2062 Yuu Suzuki of the San Fernando Bears had a lot to celebrate in today's 12-3 win over the Valencia Stars after pounding a trio of home runs at Chico's Bail Bonds Field. "I'm just closing my eyes and swinging as hard as I can," he joked with reporters after the game. "It worked well today." The powerful San Fernando third baseman tagged 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 5 runs and scored 3 times in his three-homer outburst. "We talked about changing our strategy for the third one, and then he went and hit another homer," Valencia manager Roberto Solís said. "We just couldn't get him out." Yuu Suzuki flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Luis González in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Luis González in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Bob Loblaw in the 8th. For the year, Suzuki is batting .368 with 53 hits and 12 home runs. He has scored 29 times and driven in 34. |
