Stickler on the Attack, Player of the Week Monday, May 22nd , 2062 21-year-old George Stickler sent shock waves through Brewster Baseball Association last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Johnson League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Stickler made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .577 average, 15 hits in 26 at-bats, 2 home runs and 6 runs batted in. Where the San Antonio Outlaws right fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Stickler certainly made his mark last week. This season, Stickler is swinging the bat at a .375 pace. He has hit 12 home runs and scored 40 times, while driving in 27. His on-base percentage is .430 and he has played in 46 games. |
