Montreal Trades Cintrón to Valencia for Rivera Monday, August 14th , 2062 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Blazers announced today the acquisition of 31-year old RHP Luis González, 30-year old CF Koray Kapkin, and 27-year old 1B Vicente Rivera from the Valencia Stars in exchange for 23-year old 2B Juan Montoya, 21-year old 1B Nikolaus Buser, 18-year old 2B Carlos Greene, 19-year old LF Raúl Chavarría, 20-year old LF Eduardo Rodríguez, and 25-year old 1B Cisco Cintrón. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Blazers, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Valencia will retain a portion of Kapkin's remaining contract. Valencia will retain a portion of Rivera's remaining contract. In 2062 Rivera has hit at a .288 clip with 107 hits, 11 home runs, 53 RBIs and has scored 46 times. |
