Tallent Hits for Cycle Against Calgary Tuesday, September 19th , 2062 Adrian Tallent did everything he could for the Phoenix Talons -- literally. The 22-year-old left fielder hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Talons, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Calgary Pioneers, 10-8, at The Stockyard. "Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Tallent reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat." In a game headed for the record books, Tallent banged out 4 hits in 6 at-bats and totaled 4 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck." "A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle." Adrian Tallent doubled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Rich Tidwell in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and tripled in the 10th. So far this season, Tallent has gotten 209 hits in 609 at-bats for a .343 batting average with 20 home runs. His stats include 95 RBIs and 108 runs scored. He has played in 138 games.
