Kernels Captures Wild Card Saturday, September 23rd , 2062 As the clock struck midnight in the Des Moines Kernels clubhouse, the celebration showed no signs of slowing down. The Kernels were certainly ready to celebrate their Frick League wild card berth. "It's time to let off a little steam after a grind of a season," said catcher Masakado Matsunaga. "We may act a bit like teenagers tonight celebrating, but we'll be back to being big leaguers tomorrow." With a 91-67 record, Des Moines will be seeking its 3rd Brewster Baseball Association championship. |
