Tropics Move on to Doubleday Series Wednesday, October 4th , 2062 The Hawaii Tropics didn't hold back their excitement after beating the Des Moines Kernels in the Geoghegan Round tonight. Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 3-2 win moving the club on to the Doubleday Series, clinching a 3-1 series win in front of the Kid Krauss's Kum & Go Kourtyard crowd. "This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a Monty Brewster Memorial Series, so it's an important step," said John Harris as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on." Harris was named series MVP, as he hit .267 with a .312 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 1 runs. On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Kernels sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Hawaii celebrate. The Hawaii Tropics will play against the Nashville Bluebirds in the next round. Nashville had a bye in the Geoghegan Round. The Doubleday Series is scheduled to begin on October 7th , 2062.
