Matthes Slams 5 Hits for Chicago Thursday, June 7th , 2063 Dave Matthes of the Chicago Black Sox went on a hitting spree against the Sacramento Mad Popes pitching staff, racking up 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but to no avail -- the Mad Popes put a damper on his day and prevailed, 11-10, over the Black Sox. "It was a heck of a day and I was kind of looking forward to a better ending than that," he said later.
