Bodine Blanks Portland, 8-0 Wednesday, July 18th , 2063 The Portland Lumberjacks had no answer for Chicago Black Sox pitcher Stevie Bodine. They failed to score a single run against him, losing, 8-0. Portland managed only 1 hit off Bodine, who had 8 strikeouts. The extraordinarily popular Bodine got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd. "Black Sox fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances, but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."
