Charlotte Wins Geoghegan Round Thursday, October 4th , 2063 The Charlotte Flyers are riding high after winning the Geoghegan Round and eliminating the Rosenblatt Bombers by a series score of 3-1. The final blow came tonight at Mordonez Ballpark, when Charlotte secured its spot in the Doubleday Series with a 19-7 victory. "It feels good to put them away because we really didn't want to let them crawl back into this series," said first baseman Alfredo Trujillo, who was named series MVP. "A team like that, you need to bury them when you get the chance." Trujillo certainly helped his team's cause, as he hit .412 with a .474 on-base percentage in the series. He also chipped in 1 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Charlotte Flyers will play against the Phoenix Talons in the next round. Phoenix had a bye in the Geoghegan Round.
